Clayton Chapter held its election on December 7, 2000 and elected the three councilors and a treasurer. (Posted 12/17/00)

Clayton Chapter helped some special citizens have a wonderful Halloween Dance on October 27, 2000 at the Shellnut Seniors Center. Eight DeMolay guys and one prospect dressed in holiday garb to dance the night away. Everyone had a wonderful time! Pictures to follow. (Posted 10/30/00)

On Columbus Day, October 9, 2000, SMC Derrick Honea made his Official Visit to Columbus Chapter in Columbus, Georgia. Member Mike Griggers and Dads Honea and Griggers accompanied him on his visit. (Posted 10/30/00)

Beach Weekend on Tybee Island on October 6-8, 2000 was a blast. Twelve DeMolays and two Advisors made the trip this year, giving Clayton the largest member turnout for the event. DeMolays from all over Georgia converged for a beautiful weekend of fun playing volleyball, basketball, chess, checkers, and Risk or to compete in the fishing contest. The weather was wonderful and they even got to swim in the 80 degree ocean! (Posted 10/17/00)

Forest Park Masonic Lodge hosted a Special Appreciation Supper September 30, 2000 to honor DeMolay boys and Rainbow girls for the great work they do. Clayton Chapter had 8 DeMolays present, 2 Advisors and 4 Parents' Club members. Past Grand Master Joe Suttles was the special guest speaker and congratulated the young people for belonging to such a wonderful organization. He also gave a stirring tribute to the important contributions masons have made to this country throughout the history of the United States. He noted that Forest Park Lodge had a proud history of its own dating back 106 years. (Posted 10/02/00)

State Master Councilor Derrick Honea had his Official Visit to Clayton Chapter on September 7, 2000. Twelve DeMolay members were there to show their support for one of their own who had achieved this high distinction. (Posted 10/02/00)

On September 9, 2000, four Clayton DeMolays and Dad Griggers visited Walt Disney Chapter to help them initiate two new members into DeMolay. (Posted 10/02/00)

Five Clayton members and two Advisors traveled to Cecil Cheves Chapter in Savannah on August 27, 2000 to attend the Installation of new officers for that Chapter. A fine crowd was on hand for the important event. State Master Councilor Derrick Honea installed the new officers. (Posted 08/28/00)

Dad Larry Griggers was selected by the Advisory Council to become the new Clayton Chapter Dad on August 24, 2000. (Posted 08/28/00)

On August 19, 2000, Augusta Chapter, Order of DeMolay received its Letters Temporary and was re-instituted as the 12th DeMolay Chapter in Georgia. It took four cars to haul the 13 Clayton Members, Advisors and Parents to Augusta for this historic occasion. (Posted 08/28/00)

On July 20, 2000, the new officers of Clayton Chapter were installed along with the new Parent's Club officers. (Posted 08/28/00)

The 2000 Georgia DeMolay Conclave was held on July 14, 15 and 16, 2000 at Middle Georgia College in Cochran, Georgia. Clayton Chapter's Derrick Honea was elected State Master Councilor and Jonathan Canada was appointed State Senior Deacon. Congratulations to both in these important and prestigious roles. Clayton Chapter swept most of the awards including Chapter of the Year! (Posted 07/25/00)

Master Councilor Brian Eidson presented an excellent "Education Day" program at the June 15, 2000 meeting. He gave a brief history of the origin of DeMolay and then held a question and answer period to test the member's knowledge of DeMolay traditions. Everyone enjoyed the program. (Posted 06/17/00)

On May 18, 2000, Bro. Gary Vinson, Cecil Cheves Chapter, gave an excellent Flower Talk in honor of Parents Appreciation Day. The members treated their parents to a great meal and cleaned up the kitchen and dishes afterwards! The parents felt really appreciated that day. Fun was had by all. (Posted 5/24/00)

Thursday, May 25, 2000, Middle Georgia conferred the DeMolay Degree. Jonathan & Michael participated in the degree. (Posted 5/24/00)

DeMolay International now has insurance coverage for our drivers under age 18. As usual this is secondary coverage to the individual's primary coverage. EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: Due to insurance regulations, all individuals who drive on behalf of DeMolay must:

  1. Be a properly licensed driver in your state.
  2. Have permission from their chapter.
  3. Have adequate personal insurance according to the laws of their state. (Posted 4/25/00)
